Geographical (Airspace) Zones

Geographical Zones Map

Before any flight, the remote pilot must check the airspace to see if a geographical zone applies. A geographical zone is an (airspace) area where unmanned aircraft operations may be restricted or prohibited, for example through height limits or access requirements. This map helps you clearly identify and understand those areas.

Search by location or Eircode, then click on a zone for detailed information. Right-click to open the flight authorisation assistant, which provides zone details and other tools to pre-populate and download a UF101 application form.

Important Note

This map uses official IAA data and the latest GeoJSON updates to assist in planning UAS operations in Ireland (latest version and date information indicated above map). Pilots remain responsible for verifying current airspace status and NOTAMs before flight. Blue zones are unofficial zones added by Safe Drone Academy to create awareness and highlight zones with potentially increased aviation activity. Temporary (T) zones will only appear on the map during their active time and date constraints.
